Research Insights:
Engaging with online donors
|
|
| by Bruce Cole , MJI USA
What are the demographics of online givers? What are they looking for when they decide to support a charity?
A survey conducted by CAF and ISP Poptel, the UK's leading co-operative Internet Service and Solutions Provider offers interesting responses to these questions and much more.
This research has identified a distinctive group of online supporters who are:
- young (aged 25-34)
- lower to middle income (£10,000-£30,000 annually)
- equally likely to be male or female
- heavy Internet users (nearly 60% used the
Internet daily last year, excluding e-mail)
This young online community of Internet-literate individuals may be an increasingly important group for fundraisers of the future. Why? Not because they are especially wealthy, but because they are actively seeking to give to charities efficiently, quickly and in a way that suits their e-lifestyle.
